Zhangzhou Dongshan Island is located in Dongshan County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. It is the second largest island in Fujian Province, with a total area of about 188 square kilometers. Dongshan Island belongs to Dongshan County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. It is the largest island in Dongshan County, accounting for 97% of the county's land area. It is located at 23°33′33″~23°47′11″N, 117°17′33″~117°34'32″E, separated from Yunxiao County by a 600-meter waterway. After the construction of the Bachimen Seawall in 1961, it became a land-connected island. Dongshan Island has a subtropical marine monsoon climate, warm and humid all year round, with an average annual temperature of 20.8°C and a long frost-free period, suitable for year-round agriculture and tourism. The island's terrain slopes from northwest to southeast, with low hills in the northwest and marine plains and sandy land in the southeast. There are 413 small hills on the island, 29 of which are above 80 meters in elevation. The highest peak is Sufeng Mountain at 274.3 meters. The geology is mainly granite and Jurassic gneiss, with many sandbars and reef landscapes. The coastline is winding, combining natural scenery and human history. Dongmen Islet is shaped like the character "土," with an altitude of 91 meters and unique landscapes; from the island, you can overlook Wenfeng Pagoda and the surrounding sea views.
